❄️❄️❄️ To enable the observation of the X-ray Universe, the X-ray Integral Field Unit must be cooled down to a temperature close to the absolute zero. This movie presents the technologies involved in the X-IFU cryogenic chain, which makes its focal point the coldest place in outer space.

❄️❄️❄️ Please keep in mind that this video presents the cryogenic chain as elaborated during the preliminary definition phase of the X-IFU. A new cryogenic chain is being designed based on a subset of coolers whose working principles will remain similar to the coolers presented in this video.
