Talk: X-raying the sky – finding black holes and other extreme objects, by Dr. Natalie Webb (zoom)

The Language Resource Center (Centre de Ressources en Langues, FSI, UT3) in collaboration with the UPS in Space, the astronomy club of Toulouse III- Paul Sabatier University, are organizing a talk by Dr. Natalie Webb (IRAP), astrophysicist and English native speaker on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 7:30 PM UTC+02 – 8:45 PM UTC+02.

The title of the talk is: X-raying the sky – finding black holes and other extreme objects! Dr. Natalie Web said about the upcoming talk: “Observing the sky using X-ray telescopes allows us to observe some of the most energetic events in the Universe, which include supernova explosions, the creating of black holes, matter swirling around supermassive black holes in the centres of galaxies, to name but a few. During this talk I will present some of the observations and showcase some of the remarkable objects that we have discovered over the last few years.”
